What is Adsense code?

12 November, 2007 (13:14) | Advertising, Google | By: clive

The Google adsense code is the code that you place on your website in order to display Google ads. It is generated from within the publisher account. The code is executed when the webpage loads by calling the adserver to release a specific ad for display. The displayed ad is identified through parameters passed on by the code. This ensures that only relevant ads are displayed.

GoFreeClick works in exactly the same way as Google ads. You place the GoFreeClick code on your webpage and when the page loads, a request is sent to the GoFreeClick adserver for a specific ad, which is then displayed. Like Googleads, the display of GoFreeClick ads is determined by the publisher?s profile

What is an adserver?

An adserver is a webserver which hosts advertisements used in an online marketing campaign. The content of the webserver is contained in a database and is constantly changing as new advertisements are added and old ones are deleted or edited. The adserver receives a request from a website wishing to display an advertisement. The request contains certain parameters which determine which advertisement will be served. Common parameters are region, language and context for example. If a suitable ad is found, it is immediately displayed. If there is no suitable ad then a default ad is sometimes displayed. The default ad is usually a public service advertisement. The adserver also records information about the advertisement such as the number of times it was displayed and how many times it was clicked on.

Most adservers operate on a profit basis which can become quite expensive for the advertiser. Usually the advertiser is charged for the number of times their advertisement was clicked while the person who owns the website which displayed the advertisement will be paid a percentage of this. Googleads is perhaps the most well known adserver.

GoFreeClick is a free adserver offering a free advertising service to anyone who wishes to advertise on the web. There is absolutely no charge at all! GoFreeClick basically allows you to create up to 10 advertisements which are then displayed on participating websites. All that is required is that you agree to place a piece of code on your website (just like googleads) which allows advertisements to be displayed. You have control over which ads are displayed.

google complains of unfair competition!

The mighty google has met it’s match. No longer can it strut supreme in the belief that it is the all powerful. The giant has been struck a mortal blow, its armour too heavy, its size too great, its unsteady legs unable to bear the heavy torso. David stands and watches, waiting for the final fall when he will lunge forward to sever the once mighty head and hold it aloft for all to see. Google is dead. At least googleads. Not quite dead but dying, maybe? So what’s killing googleads you may ask? Well, have you heard of goFreeClick? You haven’t? Well let me tell you all about goFreeClick

goFreeClick is an amazing concept. So how does it work? Much like googleads I have to admit. You log in, create your text ad and the ad is immediately displayed on participating websites. How is this possible? Well, very simple. In order to create an ad to be displayed, you first have to agree to display ads on your website. Again, just like googleads. You place a piece of code on your website so that when your site is visited, the code selects an ad from the adserver and displays it. You have total control over which ads are displayed. Ads are selected based on the relevant region and category into which they fall. Similarly the code that you place on your website to display ads, is created and is dependent on the region and category that you choose. It is this code that selects the relevant ad from the adserver. Okay, so do I get paid for advertising on my website? Well, yes you do. You get your ads displayed on other participating websites for FREE!

Imagine, now even the small guy has an opportunity to advertise on the internet for FREE! Imagine all the blogs out there using goFreeClick to advertise their blog, for FREE! Surely that will be something for google to complain about?

Free advertising – free text ads

Free googleads? Is it possible to advertise for free? Well goFreeClick allows you to do just that!

We have all seen googleads. They’re everywhere. Most of us have them displayed on our websites in the hope that someone will click on them so that we can make some cash. The guy advertising hopes that we will click on the ad, arrive at his site and end up buying his product or service. Sometimes it just costs too much to advertise so we don’t. We end up not getting any hits and we don’t sell our products and services. We close up shop.

What about the casual blogger or small business owner who can’t afford googleads? Fortunately there is help at hand and free at that. Have a look at goFreeClick. Think of it as a free googlead.

Gofreeclick ads are displayed on websites exactly like googleads and they work exactly the same. You click on the ad and a new window opens, displaying the advertised website. Gofreeclick even has a stats page for you to monitor your ad so you can see how many times it was displayed and how many times it was clicked. And it’s all free.

So what’s the catch? Well none, really. In order for you to advertise you have to agree to place a piece of code on your website which will display a free goFreeClick ad. Just like googleads. You place the code on your web page and each time that page is displayed, the adserver will then display the relevant advertisement. Unlike googleads, it is totally free! Perhaps the only downside is that nobody makes any money but hey, your advertising campaign is FREE!

Go to goFreeClick to get your ad up and running in minutes.
